Oblivion

Dead cold silence
Empty are these halls
Pillars stand eternal
Shadows drape the walls
Once a vast kingdom
Now a barren tomb
Ageless face of time
Citadel in ruins
Stone slowly turned to dust
Transcending loss
Crown of gods dethroned
Forever gone
Blind prophet now sees
Abandoned dreams
In remembrance of the past
Under the ancient trees
We mortals then gathered
Reading tales from the scrolls
Eris, have you blessed us?
Algea, leave us be
We want not this crown
Bind us not to Furies
A tantalizing dream
Vision of fruitful earth
Taken away by cruel truth
For nothing here has worth
Impending doom
From deep within the catacombs, abomination is stirring
Restless slumber now provoked, released from old rusted chains
Wretched demigod arises, and he spreads his tattered wings
Existence in upheaval, a pestilence will soon consume the land
Summoner of flames, Ares awakens
To reclaim the land begin the annihilation
Scorched earth upon a silent, empty plane
Scalding the last of the ruinous faces
Arcane instrument of their undoing,
Forged by archaic art in desolation
All that is left is ash, a blight upon this world
Fragments of what once was, in oblivion
As the world fades into the nothingness
As he stands at the foot of crumbling fortress ceased
Legacy of the blind god eroded - in disgrace
Sanctity of life returned to nothing, pure ruination
Creation reduced to extinction, unsalvation
Requiem thus unfolds, a prophecy foretold
to the woeful deities, the vacant choir now sings
condemnation will be done, all history forgotten
destiny has been denied, banished from the bleakest light
Unmerciful conquest transpires, victimized population
Tartarean destruction, ancient lore manifested
All myths told in fright and fear, transcend to reality
Omnipotent malevolence, chains of order are shattered for the End
Extinction results, all that we knew is lost
Cenotaph our home, no trace of what we had known
Antecosmic wait, rewarded with storming hate
Olympian wrath, authors of our epitaph
To Hades' damned flame, I curse immortal name
Face Oblivion, the battle will never be won
